【Important】
The curriculum of languages group is reorganized in AY 2016 and it causes some changes. The following articles are very important changes, so make sure them before the pre-registrations.
Students enrolled in 2015 or before should pay attention to the following article 1 to article 4.
1. The primary courses of second foreign languages, however in Japanese courses, elementary Japanese II is excluded but intermediate courses and advanced courses are included, are provided as two credits courses (primary German I (6hours course) as 12 credits, primary French I (8hours course) as 16 credits, each primary Italian course as 8 credits and elementary Japanese I as 12 credits). But if students who enrolled AY 2015 or earlier take the reorganized courses and earn their credits, only a half of the number of their credits are counted as the credits for graduation requirement.
2. English II Class for students who haven't earned credits will be provided as transitional measures for students who enrolled AY 2015 or earlier; E2C CALL classes will be provided by the second semester in AY 2017. E2S Schooling classes will be provided by the second semester in AY 2018. Students have to register for those classes while it's opening.
3. "実習(Practical training)" classes in primary level of foreign second languages turn into "演習(Seminar)" classes, for instance "ドイツ語IA(実習)(Primary German IA (Practical training))" turn into "ドイツ語IA(演習)(Primary German IA (Seminar)". This change is a course title change, so "実習(Practical training)" and "演習(Seminar)" classes are treated as the same title courses. If you have earned primary "実習(Practical training)" class, please pay attention not to take the same title "演習(Seminar)" class.
Also, if you need to retake "実習(Practical training)" class in primary level, you should take "演習(Seminar)" class instead.
4. If first learners in sophomore year or above would like to join a class designated for freshmen, they have to pre-register for it. Without pre-registration, they cannot register for the class even if they directly get permission by instructor of the class.
FRESHMEN who failed English Reading or English Writing-Listening A in the first semester can compensate for it by registering a corresponding class for students who haven't earned credits in the second semester.
But it is not recommended that registering both English Writing-Listening A retaiking class and English Writing-Listening B in a semester. Students who haven't earned English Writing-Lisetening A should take its retaking class first.
