If you pass the screening and wish to take intermediate or advanced language classes skipping introductory classes, you need to follow a special procedure for registering the courses offered for upper grades, so consult with Liberal Arts and Sciences Courses Student Desk by a prescribed date.
Note 1: This screening is only conducted when you first enter Kyoto University. Current students will not be considered for the screening.
Note 2: This screenings conducted for German, French, Chinese, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Korean and Arabic classes, not for English and Japanese (for international students) classes. However, the level of Japanese class a student takes is determined by the placement test.
Note 3: Although you are exempted from taking primary classes, you must earn all the credits required for graduation in intermediate and advanced classes.
