The purpose of this class is for beginners to acquire practical Japanese using basic vocabulary and phrases and to have interest in studying Japanese.

・日本語での発話に慣れる。
・フレーズとその機能を学習して、すぐに使える実践的な日本語を身につける。
・自己紹介や買い物に使う表現、時間や場所を尋ねる表現、許可、依頼、予定や行動や感想を述べる表現を学び、話せるようになる。

・To become familiar with Japanese conversation.
・To study phrases and their functions in order to acquire practical Japanese for immediate use in the world.
・To be able to introduce yourself, use expressions for shopping, ask the time and place, ask permission, make requests, and talk about plans, activities and impressions.

This is a conversation class for students who have completed the first half of Elementary Japanese. The purpose of the course is for students to attain the conversation skills necessary for communicating in a variety of everyday situations. Students will learn about Japanese culture, reflect on their own culture, and deepen intercultural understanding.

・基本的な個人情報や家族情報、買い物、仕事などで、よく使われる文や表現が理解できるようになる。

各課の「文法」を事前に学習すること
教室外でもさまざまな日本語に触れてほしい。
Students are expected to study the grammar section of each lesson before class and do their best to use Japanese outside the class.

日本語初級II（4Hコース）は初級前半を終えた学習者を対象とする。構成は週2コマである。授業では文法、語彙の定着とコミュニケーション能力の向上を図るべく「話す・聞く」の技能を中心に学習し、日常生活のさまざまな場面でコミュニケーションがとれるように、必要な会話能力を身につけることをコースの目的としている。また、一学期を通して新しい文型や語彙を学ぶだけでなく、初級前半で習った文型や語彙の応用練習も行う。なお、授業の進捗状況を見て、2、3回程度読解のアクティビティを行うことがある。

This is an integrated course offered as a sequence of 2 class sessions per week designed for students who have completed the first half of Elementary Japanese. This course aims to develop skills in listening and speaking with an emphasis on vocabulary building and acquiring grammatical competence. The students will attain the conversation skills necessary for communicating in a variety of everyday situations. Students will not only learn new elementary sentence patterns and build their vocabulary, but they will also practice applying the sentence patterns and vocabulary previously learned.Depending on the progress of the class, reading comprehension activities may be held two or three times.

メインテキストとして『初級日本語〔げんき〕II（第3版）』（The Japan Times）を使用し、2週間で1課ずつ学習していく。後期は18課から23課までを扱う。

We will use 『An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese Genki II, Third Edition』（The Japan Times）as our main textbook, and cover one lesson in around two weeks. This semester we will cover lessons 18 to 23.
