法は、国家・社会の重要なインフラストラクチャーである。この授業では、始めに、世界の中での日本法を概観した後、人々の関係を規律する基本的な法である民法を主たる題材として、法とは何か、法の役割、法の解釈と適用、裁判のしくみについて学ぶ。また、グローバル化と法との関係についても検討する。

予習：　授業前にPandAでレジュメを提供するので、レジュメおよびその中で指示する資料等の該当箇所を読んでおくこと。

規格化された経済学をそのまま祖述するのではなく、経済学の歴史を、おもに貨幣という視角から通覧することによって、経済学への導入を図る。経済学の歴史を通覧すると、マルクス経済学と近代経済学の２つだけでなく、学派の数だけ３つも４つも、あるいはそれ以上に理論が存在することを思い知るであろう。しかしこのことは、理論が時代と地域の特殊性に制約されるという、ありふれた相対主義を意味するわけではない。この講義では、経済学の隣接諸分野をも射程に入れて、異分野にまたがる初学者を経済学に導きいれる工夫をする。それと同時に、経済学のあらたな対立軸を模索することを試みたいと思う。後期の経済学Ⅱでは、重商主義と古典派経済学を歴史上一回限りのものと見なすのではなく、両者の対立が現代にも持ち越されているという視角から、現代社会の問題を探っていく。

経済思想の歴史を、単線的に進歩していくものと見なしたり、逆に各時代の思想の相対的独立性のみに目を奪われるのではなく、過去の要素が独自に読み替えられながら、現代にまで持ち越されるという点に留意して見直してみる。経済学Ⅱではおもに、貨幣をめぐる対立的見解を軸に、資本主義の本質を探ることを目指す。

比較的早い時期に、経済学史を通覧した簡便な本を通読しておくことが望ましい。経済学史上の古典を一つ選び、講義の進行とともに読み進めると学習効果が上がる。

一般に、価値や規範に関する理論的研究と、具体的な社会問題を解決するための政策的研究は、まったく切り離されたものとして捉えられがちである。だが、実際には、深く関係しており、両者をいかにつなぐかを考えることが求められている。本ゼミナールでは、公共政策と価値や規範の関係について論じた論文を読むことを通じて、価値や規範に関する理論的研究について理解を深めるとともに、具体的な社会問題に理論をあてはめることの意義と難しさを理解することを目的とする。

政治哲学や法哲学で扱われている代表的な規範理論について理解するとともに、そうした理論を具体的な社会問題に応用できるようになること。

前半は、受講者全員で、毎回、論文をひとつ、または複数読んできて、全員がそれについてコメントを述べ、引き続き受講者同士で議論をおこなう。とりあげる論文は、日本語で書かれたもので、予備知識がほとんどなくても読めるような、導入的・基礎的なものを選ぶ。後半は、各自の報告をおこなってもらう。

Game theory is the study of strategic decision-making, where the outcome for each participant depends on their own actions as well as the actions of others. It provides a powerful framework for analyzing a wide range of competitive and cooperative scenarios.

In a complete information game, all players have full knowledge of the rules, strategies, and payoffs of others, allowing for fully informed decisions. In contrast, an incomplete information game involves uncertainty about some aspects of the game, such as the payoffs or strategies of other players, adding an additional layer of complexity to strategic reasoning.

This course will provide standard undergraduate-level knowledge of complete information games and an introduction to incomplete information games. We will cover the basic concepts, model formalization, and key solution concepts such as Nash equilibrium and Bayesian Nash equilibrium.

Throughout the course, we will explore various applications of these concepts in economics, politics, and other real-world scenarios.

- Students will be evaluated on their weekly reading responses of about 500 words each (50% = 5% x 10) and a final term paper (50% of grade) which will be minimum 2,000 words as well as 200-word summary and separate citation/referencing

現代社会では多様な問題が解決を迫られているが、法は、そのような問題の解決手段として呼び出される一方で、しばしばそうした問題を生み出す原因にもなっている。本ゼミナールでは、現代社会の諸問題に、現代法システムがどのように関わっており、また関わるべきかについて考察する。「社会を通して法を知る」とともに、「法を通して社会を知る」機会となるようにしたい。

現代の法システムをめぐる諸問題について、基礎的な知識と分析の視点を修得することを目標とする。

【第１回】
オリエンテーションの回として、授業の進め方や、授業の準備・報告の方法について説明する。

【第２回—第１４回】
各回とも、現代の法システムに関わる問題について、事前に指名された担当者の報告後、全員が参加して議論を行う形式をとる。報告にあたり、文献があらかじめ指定される場合と、報告者の自由に委ねられる場合とがある。

取り上げる問題については、できるだけ幅広いものとすることを考えている。「現代社会と弁護士」（法曹人口、弁護士の社会的役割等）、「現代社会と裁判所」（裁判官人事、違憲審査制、司法の独立、司法による政策形成等）、「現代社会と法規制」（たばこ規制等）、「現代社会と政治」（議院内閣制のあり方等）などを予定しているが、受講生の人数や背景的知識、時事的な問題状況などに応じて変更する場合もある。

複雑化し、多様化した現代日本社会の諸問題に取り組んでいく際には、法・経済・倫理など、多角的な視点から考察することが重要である。なかでも、多様な人々が共生していくための基盤である憲法は、そうした諸問題に取り組んでいく際の不可欠の視点である。

本授業では、多様な人々が共生していくために、憲法がいかなる権利を基本的人権として保障しているか、また、様々な政治・社会問題がそれらの権利とどのように関わっているかを中心に、憲法に関する基本的な知識と視点を講義する。

本授業では、憲法の基礎的な知識と視点の修得を目指す。特に、現代の様々な政治・社会問題と憲法が保障する権利との関わりについて認識し、自ら考察できるための基礎的能力の修得を目標とする。

貿易赤字は悪いことなのか。インフレは何が問題なのか。経済成長する国としない国の違いとは何か。国際経済や金融の大まかな動きを理解する上で、最低限必要となる経済学の考え方を、歴史的・時事的な事例をもとに解説する。

国際収支、為替、物価などの経済指標の見方と、それらの動きを説明する基本的な理論を学ぶとともに、現代の世界経済が直面する課題について理解を深める。

経済学の境界領域に横たわる問題を拾い上げることで、経済学を相対化しながら、経済そのものの本質・原理を探る。

資本主義の基礎的な仕組みを理解するとともに、通説を疑う姿勢を身に着ける。

資本主義システムは、経済的合理性のみにもとづく閉鎖体系ではなく、それを取り巻く社会的環境に開かれている。したがって、労働力・土地・貨幣といった境界領域の分析が不可欠である。とりわけ貨幣においては、経済と社会の矛盾が複雑なかたちで現れる。しかし経済学にとってなぜか貨幣は鬼門である。このゼミでは、貨幣を含め経済学の境界に横たわる諸問題を丹念に拾い上げ、経済学の正統を相対化しながら経済学原理への導入を図る。経済思想、社会思想を広く取り上げる前期のILASセミナー：経済思想を承け、後期においてはより理論的な問題を取り上げる。以下のような課題について、それぞれ２〜３週授業をする予定である。あるいは年度に応じて２〜３の課題を集中的に取り上げることがある。

This course explores modern challenges and opportunities faced by managers in today’s dynamic business environment. It covers the evolution of management theories, strategies for effective leadership, and decision-making processes in the context of rapidly changing technological, social, and economic landscapes. 新聞、テレビ等で日々報じられる犯罪捜査や刑事裁判に関する最新の話題にも言及しつつ、施行から15年余りになる裁判員裁判の運用状況や課題も含め、刑事裁判手続の概要を講義する。

わが国における犯罪捜査、刑事裁判に関する手続と運用の実情を正しく理解し，関心を高めることを目標とする。
先般の法改正により、１８歳以上の有権者は裁判員及び検察審査員の有資格者となった。大学生も裁判員や検察審査委員に選任される可能性があることから、その意味からも、刑事裁判に関する正しい理解を深めることが期待される。

犯罪捜査や刑事裁判に対する興味・関心を高めるため、報道されたこれらに関連する最新の話題や裁判例についても随時取り上げて説明するとともに、刑事訴訟手続における以下のテーマとそれに関連する具体的な事例について、受講者との意見交換も交えた授業を予定している。

【評価方法】
課題①②（小レポート・各３０点）、課題③（小レポート・４０点）で評価する。レポートは、問題点の把握、分析力、論理的な理解力、表現力等を評価の視点とするが、課題③については授業への参加姿勢（出席状況等）も考慮する。
課題①は、捜査の手法に対する評価と獲得した証拠の証拠能力に関するもの、課題②は、事実認定に関するもの、課題③は、本授業のまとめに関するものを予定している。
なお、提出したレポートは返却しない。

This course explores modern challenges and opportunities faced by managers in today’s dynamic business environment. It covers the evolution of management theories, strategies for effective leadership, and decision-making processes in the context of rapidly changing technological, social, and economic landscapes. This is an introductory course on Japanese politics which considers the nature of Japan's political institutions from a comparative perspective. The course will analyze how variation in key political institutions (such as the electoral system) affects political outcomes in Japan and other democracies. The course is organized into three parts: 1) a brief survey of Japanese political history from the Meiji era to the present 2) a description and comparison of Japan's key political institutions 3) investigation into a number of political themes in post-war Japan.

Along the way, students are introduced to basic social science methodologies of comparison to generate causal inferences as well as some basic analytical models used in comparative politics (such as the principal-agent and veto player model).

The goal of this course is for students to begin to contemplate how the preferences of voters, politicians, parties and interest groups are constrained and channeled by political institutions. Another goal is for students to improve their English reading and writing skills through studying in English a subject that they may be familiar with in the Japanese language.

This course is an exploration of key economic principles, illustrated and discussed via examples, both quantitative and qualitative. The purpose of the course is to give students a deep and thoughtful understanding of economic concepts.

IMPORTANT: This course is best suited to students who enjoy mathematics and the kind of logical arguments associated with mathematics. A reasonable understanding of basic concepts (calculus, continuity, convexity, concavity, vectors, limits) will be assumed. Students who are less confident with such concepts will probably be more comfortable with the course "Introduction to Economics".

This class presents an overview of Japan's post-war modern history and investigates select issues in its political economy. The class is organized into two parts: 1) an analysis of the politics, economics, and society in Japan's post-war history (1945-2020) and 2) an exploration of Japan's industrial relations, gender equality, demographic changes and inter-generational conflicts, centre-local relations, environmental issues et al. as analyzed through the interactions of political forces/institutions and market forces/economic institutions
