Pre-registration for ILAS Seminars

Schedule of pre-registration for ILAS Seminars is indicated as follows.This shows the schedule of pre-registration in first semester for 1st year undergraduate students. For schedule of pre-registration in first semester for students in their 2nd year or above and in second semester for all students, refer to “Registration for ILAS Seminars ”on Handbook of Liberal Arts and Sciences Course. For intensive lectures, we’ll announce the recruitment of participants later for 2nd year or senior students but 1st year students need to pre-register even intensive lectures as scheduled below.

Refer to List of Offered Course for syllabus. Application is accepted on the website “Welcome to Kyoto University” or KULASIS as follows in first semester.

  • * 1st year undergraduate students are allowed to enroll in only one course, except in the case of “ILAS Seminar-E2” or “ILAS Seminar (Overseas)”.
  • **ILAS seminars with on-site or field training abroad are provided as ILAS seminar (overseas).
    A student who would like to join the seminar must attend the information session in April.
    The details of the session are to be announced.

If applicants are over the expected capacity for 1st year students of a course, a random lottery is conducted.

KULASIS
  • The lottery result is released.
  • If a student is pre-registered in a course, the course has registered in his/her timetable.
  • If not selected, they can sign up for a course which still has a placement on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Either one ILAS seminar(“ILASセミナー”) or one ILAS Seminar-E2 is pre-registered through the process until this stage.
  • Freshmen are allowed to apply for ILAS seminar (“ILASセミナー”) including intensive course by the end of this period.
April 5 KULASIS
  • The course that is given permission in the first-come-first-served period is registered in the timetable.
  • ILAS Seminar-E2 courses which accept additional registrations at the first class are to be announced.

Ask the instructor at the first class In the case that you’d like to register ILAS Seminar-E2 additionally, ask the instructor for permission at the first class.

Confirmation and revision:

KULASIS Pre-registration does not mean the completion of the registration procedure. As well as the other Liberal Arts and Sciences Course, register the permitted ILAS seminar and finalize them on KULASIS during both of the designated periods. It must be finalized during registration period.
