International Kyoto Summer Program
Kyoto Summer Program is an annual short-term program open to both international students from universities around the world and domestic students enrolled at Kyoto University.
The program was launched in 2012 and is held jointly by the Kyoto University Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences (ILAS) and the Kyoto University Asian Studies Unit (KUASU). Students enrolled in the program can choose to attend classes taught mainly in English (provided by ILAS) or mainly in Japanese (provided by KUASU).
As a co-educational program, it is open to both international students from Kyoto University’s overseas partner institutions and domestic students enrolled at Kyoto University. The program provides an opportunity to experience Kyoto University’s unique academic culture and cutting-edge research activities, while deepening students’ understanding of Japanese culture, as well as social, scientific, and ecological issues in Japan. The program provides international students with an opportunity to establish a firm foundation for their future relationship with Japan and Kyoto University, and it provides domestic students with a foundation on which to develop their future international activities.
