International Kyoto Summer Program

This annual summer program is open to both international students from partner universities around the world and students from Kyoto University.

Participants will experience the University's unique academic culture and cutting-edge research while deepening their appreciation of Japanese culture and gaining insights into the social, scientific, and ecological issues confronting the country.

The program was launched in 2012 and is held jointly by the Kyoto University Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences (ILAS) and the Kyoto University Asian Studies Unit (KUASU).

The curriculum is designed to provide international students with a foundation on which to develop their relationship with both Japan and the University while helping Japanese students expand their engagement in international activities.

It is going to be held as a credited Liberal Arts and Sciences Courses named ”Seminar for Multicultural Studies: Watch, Listen and Learn @ Kyoto - From Accepting Various Cultures to Transmitting Your Own.”.

We have a Japanese language teaching practicum for international students. Only native Japanese speakers or those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N2 or higher are eligible for this opportunity.
